Lake Chamo

Located in the Great Rift Valley in southern Ethiopia, the stunningly blue Lake Chamo is most famous for the large population of crocodiles that can be found on its shores. For those looking for tamer wildlife, the waters are also home to a variety of fish that includes tiger-fish, cat-fish and giant Nile perch, making it a great fishing spot. The northern end of the lake lies in the Nechisar National park where visitors can take in the forest of incredible fig trees that grow up to 4m wide and 30m high.
